DisplayPort（DP）

definition

DisplayPort(DP for short) is a digital video interface standard promoted by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) and is scheduled for May 2006.

The interface is free of authentication and authorization, and the new digital audio / video interface in development is mainly suitable for connecting computers and screens, or computers and home theater systems. It intends to replace the old VGA, DVI and FPD-Link (LVDS) video transmission interface technology.

Mini DisplayPort

Mini DisplayPort is a miniature version of DisplayPort. Published by Apple on October 14, 2008.

Mini DisplayPort on MacBook Pro

It is now used in MacBook (replaces the previous Mini-DVI), MacBook Air (replaces the previous Micro-DVI) and MacBook Pro (replaces the previous DVI) notebook computers. Also used in 27-inch LED Cinema Display.

Support manufacturers Companies such as AMD, Apple, Dell, Intel, Lenovo and HP have expressed support for DisplayPort.

advantage

1. The internal data transmission method of DisplayPort is different from that of DVI and HDMI, so it cannot be handled by an adapter like DVI and HDMI. But it can be converted to D-sub, DVI, HDMI through the chip.

2. DisplayPort 1.2 supports MST (Multi-Stream Transport), a single DP can be connected to multiple displays.

3. Support USB Type-C.

Video in video out(Referred to asLIVE, Commonly known as vee-voh) is a display interface that allows some graphics cards to perform bidirectional (input and output) analog video transmission through Mini-DIN connectors.

◇ Color terminal

Color difference terminal (English:Component Video Connector) Is the terminal that separates the brightness, saturation, and synchronization pulses in the analog video and transmits them separately. When there are no other qualifications, the term refers to the YPBPR interface.

◇DB13W3

DB13W3 (13W3) is a special D-sub terminal commonly used as an analog video interface, mainly used in Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics and IBM RISC workstations, as well as some displays of Apple Computer, NeXT Computer and Intergraph Corporation. 

The 13W3 connector is no longer used with modern monitors.
